All praise is due to Allah, Who has clothed me with this (garment) and provided it for me, without any strength or power on my part.
Alhamdulillahi alladhi kasani hadha ath-thawba wa razaqanihi min ghayri hawlin minni wa la quwwatin
When to Read
Recite this dua whenever you wear a new or significant piece of clothing, especially when it's for a specific purpose like a uniform for your profession, a scholarly robe, or attire for an important duty. It's a beautiful way to acknowledge Allah's grace in providing you with the means to carry out your responsibilities.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a profound expression of gratitude and tawakkul (reliance on Allah). By reciting it, we acknowledge that our provision and our ability to serve are blessings from Allah. It reminds us that even in our professional roles or when fulfilling duties, our ultimate strength and success come from Him. It helps maintain humility and prevents arrogance, fostering a sense of servitude in every aspect of our lives.
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wear a new garment, he would mention its name (like a shirt or a cloak), and then say: 'O Allah, You are the One Who has clothed me. I ask You for its good and the good of what it was made for. I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was made for.' Then he would say: 'Alhamdulillahi alladhi kasani hadha ath-thawba wa razaqanihi min ghayri hawlin minni wa la quwwatin' (All praise is due to Allah, Who has clothed me with this (garment) and provided it for me, without any strength or power on my part).
