‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever wears a new garment and says: (All praise is due to Allah Who has clothed me with this garment and provided it for me without any strength or power on my part), then Allah will forgive him for his sins that he has committed in the past." (Sunan Abi Dawud 4023). At-Tirmidhi narrated it as Hasan Gharib: ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Whoever wears a new garment and says: 'Praise be to Allah, Who has sufficed me and given me from the clothing what conceals my nakedness and beautifies me in my life.' Then he omitted a part and said: 'And whoever wears new clothing and says: 'O Allah, I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what it was made for, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was made for.' Then he said: 'And whoever wears new clothing and says: 'Praise be to Allah Who has clothed me with what covers my nakedness and what I adorn myself with in this world.' Then he omitted a part and said: 'Whoever wears a new garment and says: 'All praise is due to Allah Who has clothed me with this garment and provided it for me without any strength or power on my part,' then Allah will forgive him for his sins, past and future."
