Glory be to You, O Allah, and all praise is due to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.

Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) got up at night to pray, he would start his prayer with: 'Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdik, ash-hadu al-la ilaha illa ant, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk.' (Glory be to You, O Allah, and all praise is due to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.) And when he recited the Quran, he would be quiet. When he got up from sleep, he would say: 'Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdik, ash-hadu al-la ilaha illa ant, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk.' (Glory be to You, O Allah, and all praise is due to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.) - Sunan Abi Dawud 1303.
