Narrated by Al-Bara' bin 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with him): Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "When you go to your bed, you should say: 'Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika, wa fawwadtu amri ilaika, wa alja'tu zahrī ilaika, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika, la malja'a wa la manja minka illa ilaika. Amantu bikitābika-lladhī anzalta wa nabiyyika-lladhī arsalta.' (O Allah! I have submitted myself to You, turned my face towards You, entrusted my affair to You, and have had recourse to You for protection, seeking Your support both out of hope and fear. There is no refuge or safe haven from You except with You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.) If you die that night, you will die upon Fitrah (natural disposition). And if you wake up, you will wake up with good." (Sahih al-Bukhari 6313). And in another narration: "Alhamdulillahilladhi ahyana ba'da ma amana wa ilaihin-nushur." (Praise be to Allah, Who brought us back to life after causing us to die, and to Him is the Resurrection.) - Sahih al-Bukhari 6312
