Narrated Hudhaifa: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) got up for the night (to pray), he would say: 'Allahu Akbar! Glory be to Allah! All praise is due to Allah! There is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest!' Then he would say: 'O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave and from the punishment of Hell-fire, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal and from the trial of life and death.' Then he would perform ablution and offer his prayers. He would perform ablution by washing his hands, face, forearms up to the elbows, and wipe his head and his feet with water. And he would say: 'All praise is for Allah Who has given us the ablution needed without us having to ask for it and without our having to exert ourselves.' He also said: 'All praise is for Allah Who has brought me back to life after death (sleep). And to Him is the return.'
