Hasan HadithSunan At-Tirmidhi 3391

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي عَافَانِي فِي جَسَدِي وَرَدَّ عَلَيَّ رُوحِي وَأَذِنَ لِي بِذِكْرِهِ.

All praise is for Allah Who restored my health in my body, returned my soul to me, and permitted me to remember Him.

Alhamdulillahilladhi 'afani fi jasadi wa radda 'alayya ruhi wa adhina li bi dhikrih.

When to Read

This beautiful dua is recited immediately upon waking up in the morning. It's our very first action, setting the tone for the entire day, acknowledging Allah's continuous blessings even before we fully regain consciousness.

Recite this once, with sincerity and awareness of its meaning. Reflect on each phrase: thanking Allah for physical well-being, the gift of life and consciousness, and the ability to turn to Him. This is a moment of personal gratitude and submission.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a powerful way to acknowledge Allah's immense blessings that we often take for granted – health, life, and the ability to worship Him. By starting the day with this gratitude, we seek Allah's favor and protection. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this, showing that even seemingly simple acts are profound when done with intention and faith. It fosters a positive mindset, reminding us that our well-being and ability to remember Allah are gifts, helping us to face the day with thankfulness rather than anxiety about potential ill fortune.
