‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) woke up at night, he would start his prayer by saying: ‘Allāhumma Rabbana lakal-ḥamdu anta qayyim-us-samāwāti wal-arḍi wa man fīhinna. Wa lakal-ḥamdu laka mulk-us-samāwāti wal-arḍi wa man fīhinna. Wa lakal-ḥamdu anta nūr-us-samāwāti wal-arḍi wa man fīhinna. Anta al-ḥaqq, wa wa'duka al-ḥaqq, wa liqā'uka ḥaqq, wal-jannatu ḥaqq, wan-nāru ḥaqq, wan-nabiyyūna ḥaqq, wa Muḥammadun ḥaqq, was-sā'atu ḥaqq. Allāhumma laka aslamtu, wa bika āmant, wa 'alaika tawakkaltu, wa ilaika anabtu, wa bika khāṣamtu, wa ilaika ḥakkamtu. Faghfir lī mā qaddamtu wa mā akhkhartu, wa mā asrartu wa mā a'lantu, anta ilāhī lā ilāha illā anta.’ Then he would recite the last two verses of Surah Al-Imran. He would then perform ablution and pray. And when he woke up in the morning, he would say: ‘Alḥamdulillāhilladhī raḍanā bil-islāmi dīnan, wal-Muḥammadi Nabiyyan, wal-Qur'āni imāman.’ And when he woke up from sleep, he would say: ‘Alḥamdulillāhilladhī aḥyāna ba'da mā amātanā wa ilayhin-nushūr.’
