الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

All praise is for Allah, who brought us back to life after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.

Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyaana ba'da ma amaatana wa ilaihin-nushoor.

When to Read

Narrated Hudhaifa: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) woke up from sleep, he would say: 'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyaana ba'da ma amaatana wa ilaihin-nushoor' (All praise is for Allah, who brought us back to life after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection). And when he went to sleep, he would say: 'Bismika amutu wa ahya' (In Your name I die and live). And when he woke up from sleep, he would say: 'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyaana ba'da ma amaatana wa ilaihin-nushoor' (All praise is for Allah, who brought us back to life after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection).
