Narrated Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him): Whenever the Prophet ﷺ got up for the night (to pray), he would say: 'Allah is the Greatest! Glory be to Allah! (I praise Him). O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Arsh (Throne) the Mighty, our Lord and the Lord of everything, the Splitter of the seed-grain and the date-stone, the Revealer of the Tawrah (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and the Furqan (Quran), I seek refuge in You from the evil of every evil-evil-doer, from the evil of every creature which You seize by its forelock. You are the First, there is nothing before You; and You are the Last, there is nothing after You; and You are the Outward ( الظاهر - Az-Zahir ), and there is nothing above You; and You are the Inward ( الباطن - Al-Batin ), and there is nothing nearer than You. Grant me freedom from the debt and enrich me from poverty.' He would say this three times. And when he woke up from sleep, he would say: 'All praise is due to Allah, Who gave us life after death, and to Him is the return.'
