Narrated Hudhaifa: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) got up for night prayer, he would say: *'Allahu Akbar!' (Allah is the Greatest!) 'He is free from any imperfection, the Owner (Lord), the Receiver of all prayers, the Most Praised, the Receiver of whatever He wills, the Most Generous.' Then he would recite: 'La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer. Subhanallahi wal hamdu lillahi wa la ilaha illallahu wallahu Akbar wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.' (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone. He bestowed His favor and gave victory to His slave, and helped (His defeated army) defeated the confederates (by Himself). So He is the Greatest.) Then he would say: 'O Allah! Forgive me' or he would supplicate for Himself. He also narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite: 'Allahumma r'bbi laka-l-hamdu kama taqoolu wa khairan mimma naqoolu. Allahumma laka-s-salatu wa-l-hamdu wa-l-shukru laka ya dhal-jalali wa-l-ikram.' (O Allah! To You belongs all praise as You say and better than what we say. O Allah! To You belongs all prayer and praise and gratitude, O Owner of Majesty and Generosity.) And whenever he got up from the bed after sleeping, he would say: *'Alhamdulillahilladhi ahyaana ba'da ma amaatana, wa ilal-mashuri.'* (All the praises are for Allah Who resurrected us after giving us death, and it is to Him that we will be resurrected.)
