الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Praise be to Allah Who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the Resurrection.

Narrated Hudhaifah: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) woke up at night, he used to say: 'Allah is the Greatest! Glory be to Allah! How perfect Allah is! None has the right to be worshipped but Allah!' And then he would say: 'Allah is the Greatest! Allah is the Greatest! Allah is the Greatest! Glory be to Allah! How perfect Allah is! I seek forgiveness from Allah the Mighty, and I turn to Him in repentance.' Then he would say: 'O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me to the right path, provide me with sustenance, and suffice me.' He would then say: 'O Allah, forgive me, my early and late sins, my hidden and public sins, my excessive sins. And You are the best of those who are the best in granting the right to be forgiven. O Allah, forgive me, my sins, whether they were done intentionally or unintentionally, whether they were committed secretly or openly. And You are the best of those who are the best in granting the right to be forgiven.' He would then perform ablution and pray, and when he finished his prayer, he would say: 'I seek refuge with my Lord, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.' (3:35) And he would recite the last part of Surah Al-Imran (verses 190-200). When he finished reciting it, he would perform ablution and pray. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'When anyone of you wakes up, he should say: 'Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'alamin' (Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds), for he has put him in his house (i.e. his body) for another day.'
