The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'When any of you wakes up, let him say: *Al-hamdulillahilladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur* (Praise be to Allah who brought us back to life after causing us to die, and to Him is the return). And when he goes to sleep, let him say: *Allahumma inni a'udhu bi-wajhik-al-karim, wa li-kalimatik-at-tammati min ghadabik wa 'iqabik, wa sirri 'ibadatik* (O Allah, I seek refuge with Your noble Face and Your perfect words from Your anger and Your punishment, and from the evil of Your servants). And if he dies on that night, he will die in a state of purity (Fitr). And if he wakes up, he will wake up having gained good.' (Reported by Bukhari)
