Narrated Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him): Whenever the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ got up for the night vigil, he would say: 'Allah is the Greatest! Glory be to Allah. All praise is due to Allah. There is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. And I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of what I have said and from the evil of what I have said and from the evil of what I have done.' Then he would say: 'O Allah, Lord of Gabriel, Michael, Israfil, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, You judge between Your servants in that wherein they differ. Guide me to the truth in the matters where we differ by Your leave. You indeed guide those whom You will to the straight path.' And when he woke up from sleep, he would say: 'All praise is due to Allah Who gave us life after death, and to Him is the return.'
