الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
All praise is for Allah, who brought us back to life after causing us to die, and to Him is the return.

Narrated Hudhaifa: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) woke up at night, he would perform the Wudu' and clean his teeth with Siwak and then say: 'Allah is the Greatest! Glory be to Allah. All praise is due to Allah. There is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.' Then he would say: 'O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave.' Then he would perform Wudu' and pray. Narrated Al-Aswad: I asked 'Aisha, 'What did the Prophet (ﷺ) used to say when he woke up?' She said: 'All praise is for Allah, Who brought us back to life after causing us to die, and to Him is the return.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6312). Another narration: Narrated Anas: The Prophet (ﷺ) when waking up from sleep, used to say: 'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi 'aafaani fi jasadi, wa radda 'alayya roohi, wa adhana li bidhikrihi.' (All praise is due to Allah Who kept my body healthy, returned my soul to me and permitted me to remember Him.) - Sahih al-Bukhari 6318.
