Narrated by Abu Al-Darda: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever says in the morning: 'Allahumma anta rabbi, la ilaha illa anta, 'alaika tawakkaltu wa anta rabbul-'arshil-'azeem. La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil-'aliyyil-'azeem. Ma sha'allahu kan, wa ma lam yasha' lam yakun. A'lamu annallaha 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer, wa annallaha qad ahata bikulli shay'in 'ilman. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri nafsi, wa min sharri kulli dabbatin anta ahidhun binasiyatiha. Inna rabbi 'ala siratin mustaqeem.' (O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god but You. I have relied upon You and You are the Lord of the great Throne. There is no might nor power except with Allah the Most High, the Most Great. What Allah has willed is, and what He has not willed is not. I know that Allah is Able to do everything, and Allah has encompassed all things in knowledge. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of every creature which You seize by its forelock. Verily my Lord is on a right path.) Then he will be saved from the afflictions of the world and the torments of hell.' Another version narrated by Uthman ibn Affan: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'He who says: *Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem.* (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm on earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.) three times, will not be afflicted with sudden calamity until morning comes, and whoever says it in the morning three times will not be afflicted with sudden calamity until he reaches the morning.'
