Dua for Protection from the Dajjal and End Times Tribulations

For the Ummah
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 588

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hellfire, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhabi jahannam, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabi al-qabri, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatid-dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wal-ma'mat.

When to Read

This is a comprehensive dua for seeking Allah's protection against some of the most severe trials. It is particularly potent when recited in the final Tashahhud of the prayer, just before the Tasleem (salutation). It's also a powerful supplication to make regularly, especially as signs of the End Times become more apparent.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a heartfelt plea to Allah. Understand the meaning of each phrase you utter – seeking refuge from Hellfire's torment, the grave's questioning and punishment, the ultimate deception of the Dajjal, and the trials that encompass our lives and our passing from this world. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this as a specific supplication to be uttered within the prayer, emphasizing its importance.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication encapsulates seeking protection from four profound evils: the punishment of Hellfire, the punishment of the grave, the fitnah (trial/tribulation) of the Dajjal, and the fitnah of life and death. By teaching it within the prayer, the Prophet ﷺ highlights its immense significance and the necessity of seeking Allah's protection from these grave dangers.
