O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hellfire, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of life and death. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness and decrepitude, and I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt and from the oppression of men.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhdhabi Jahannama, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabil-qabri, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatid-Dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-mahmati wal-maghrami. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-kasali wal-harami, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabad-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a direct teaching from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, showing us the importance of seeking Allah's protection from specific evils. By seeking refuge from 'fitnatil-mahmati wal-maghrami' (the trial of life and death and overwhelming debt), we are, in a broader sense, seeking protection from situations that can destabilize individuals and, by extension, communities. Overcoming these personal trials strengthens our collective resilience. The Prophet's ﷺ repeated practice of this dua underscores its significance.
