O Allah, rescue the imprisoned Muslims and their captives in every place.
Allahumma anqidhil-muslimeenal-mahbooseena wa asraahum fee kulli makaan
When to Read
This dua is particularly relevant during times of widespread conflict, oppression, or when you hear news of Muslims being unjustly imprisoned or held captive. It's a way for us to connect with our brothers and sisters facing hardship, even from afar. We can make this a regular part of our supplications, perhaps after our obligatory prayers or during the blessed times like the last third of the night.
How to Read
When reciting this dua, it's important to do so with sincerity and a heartfelt concern for those suffering. Imagine them in your mind, feel their plight, and let that fuel your supplication. Raise your hands as you would for any other dua, facing the Qiblah if possible. Focus on the essence of 'rescue' and 'liberation' for our fellow Muslims, asking Allah to grant them ease and freedom.
Virtues & Benefits
Making dua for others, especially those in hardship, is a profound act of faith. The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ said: 'The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is readily answered. An angel is stationed by his head, and every time he supplicates for his brother, the angel says: Ameen, and may the same be for you.' (Sahih Muslim 2732). By supplicating for prisoners and captives, we are not only fulfilling a communal obligation but also earning the love and blessings of Allah and His angels.
