When to Read
This is a general supplication that can be made anytime, but it's particularly fitting when welcoming new Muslims, during community gatherings, or whenever you feel the need to pray for the unity and well-being of the Ummah, especially for those who have recently embraced Islam. Making it a regular practice during your personal duas after obligatory prayers would also be highly beneficial.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere intention and a heartfelt plea to Allah. Visualize the unity and strength of the Muslim community, and imagine new converts feeling welcomed, supported, and firm in their faith. Raise your hands in supplication as is the Sunnah when making dua. Reflect on the meaning of each phrase and feel the weight of your words asking Allah to bestow His guidance and protection.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication, drawn from the Quran, encapsulates the essence of what we should pray for concerning new converts and the entire Ummah. It asks Allah to foster love and brotherhood ('unite their hearts'), ensure harmony and good relationships ('mend the relations between them'), guide them towards the path of safety and salvation ('guide them to the ways of peace'), illuminate their lives with faith and knowledge ('bring them forth from darkness into light'), and protect them from sins and wrongdoing ('keep them away from all shameful deeds'). Praying this is a way of actively participating in the spiritual growth and integration of new Muslims, strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, and seeking Allah's mercy for the entire community.
