Dua for Ease During Difficult Journeys for All Muslims

For the Ummah
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 1342

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ

Glory be to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have accomplished it ourselves. And indeed, to our Lord we will return.

Subhanalladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinina, wa inna ila Rabbina la munqalibun.

By uttering these words, we seek Allah's provision and protection, ensuring that our journeys are made easy and that we are guided safely to our destinations and back. It fosters humility and gratitude, reminding us that all means of travel are His creation, made subservient to us by His grace. Source & Authentication

Narrated Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) mounted his camel for the journey, he would glorify Allah by saying 'Subhan Allah' three times, and then he would say: 'Subhanalladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinina, wa inna ila Rabbina la munqalibun.' (Glory be to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have accomplished it ourselves. And indeed, to our Lord we will return.) Then he would say: 'O Allah, we ask You for goodness and piety in this journey of ours, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and let us cover its distance with good. O Allah, You are the Companion in the journey and the Successor in the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of this journey and from seeing an ugly sight and from a bad outcome in wealth and family.' When he returned, he would say these words and say: 'We return, repenting to our Lord, worshipping and praising Him.' (Sahih Muslim 1342)
