Virtues & Benefits
Reciting this dua is a Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, offering immense blessings. It signifies complete reliance on Allah, which brings peace of mind and a sense of security. When we declare 'la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (there is no might nor power except with Allah), we acknowledge Allah's absolute control over all affairs. This acknowledgment can deter negative thoughts and feelings, including anger and frustration that can lead to road rage, and can also protect us from the aggression of others on the road.

Narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'When a person leaves his house saying: Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah), it is said to him: You are guided, defended and protected.' Satan then keeps away from him, and another Satan says: 'How can you deal with a person who has been guided, defended and protected by Allah?'
