Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have accomplished it by ourselves. And to our Lord we will certainly return. O Allah, we ask You on this journey of ours for righteousness and piety, and for works that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and roll up the distance for us. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the One in charge of the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from seeing a miserable sight, and from bad news in property and family upon returning.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Prophet (peace be upon him) mounted his camel and set out on a journey, he would say Takbir three times. Then he would say: Then when he returned, he would say this same supplication and these words: 'We are returning, repenting, worshipping, and to our Lord we will return.' — Sahih Muslim 4810
