Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ traveled and bivouacked in a valley, he would say: 'A'udhu bi Allahis-Sami'il-'Alim minash-shaytanir-rajim' (I seek refuge in Allah, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the accursed Satan). Then he would stop reciting when the recitation of the mushrikin (polytheists) ceased. And when he traveled and came to a valley, he would seek refuge in Allah from the evil of its people, and when he arrived in the evening, he would say: 'O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and whatever they have shaded, Lord of the earths and whatever they have carried, Lord of the devils and whatever they have misled, I ask You for the goodness of this village, the goodness of its people, the goodness of whatever is in it, and I seek refuge in You from its evil, from the evil of its people, and from the evil of whatever is in it.' Then he would say: 'A'udhu bi Allahis-Sami'il-'Alim minash-shaytanir-rajim.' And he would recite it in the morning too. (Sahih Muslim 1342)
