The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught his companions du'as for various occasions. Abdullah bin 'Amr narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) intended to travel, he would say: 'O Allah, the Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of everything and its Controller, I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of the devil and his associates.' And he would say: 'O Allah, make easy for me my journey and let me represent my family well.' When he returned, he would say these same words (of supplication) and say: 'We are returning, repenting to our Lord, worshipping and praising Him.' In another narration for riding a mount: 'Bismillah, a'udhu billahi min sharriha wa sharri ma fiha. A'udhu billahi min sharri-sh-shaytani wa min sharri-s-sayyar.'
