Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 1342

Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have accomplished it by ourselves. And indeed, to our Lord we will return. O Allah, we ask You in this journey of ours for goodness and piety, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us, and make its distance short for us. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Successor among the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of the journey, and from seeing a miserable sight, and from finding a bad outcome in wealth and family.

Subhanal-ladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinina. Wa inna ila Rabbina la-munqalibuna. Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadha al-birra wat-taqwa, wa minal 'amali ma tarda. Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hadha, watwi lana bu'dahu. Allahumma Antas-Sahibu fis-safari wal-khaleefatu fil-ahli. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min wa'thais-safari wa ka'abatil-mandhari wa su'il-munqalabi fil-mali wal-ahli.

Source & Authentication

We were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the companions. We said: 'O Messenger of Allah, can we dismount and rest?' He said: 'Certainly.' So they dismounted and rested. Then he said: 'Is it not the case that the earth is something that you traverse, and it is one of your highways?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then when you alight from your mounts, say: Subhanal-ladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinina. Wa inna ila Rabbina la-munqalibuna. O Allah, we ask You in this journey of ours for goodness and piety, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us, and make its distance short for us. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Successor among the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of the journey, and from seeing a miserable sight, and from finding a bad outcome in wealth and family.' When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) returned, he said these words and made this supplication: 'We are returning, repenting, worshipping, and to our Lord we shall return.'
