O Allah, we ask You in this journey of ours for righteousness and piety, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us, and make its distance short for us. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Successor to the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of the journey, the sorrow of seeing [something unpleasant], and the evil of returning to our property and family in a bad state. And when he returned, he used to say these words and add to them: 'We are returners, repenters, worshippers, and to our Lord praisers.'
Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadhal birra wat-taqwa, wa minal 'amali ma tarda. Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hadha, watwi 'anna bu'dah. Allahumma Antas-sahibu fis-safari, wal-khaleefatu fil-ahli. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min wa'tha'is-safari, wa ka'abatil-mandhari, wa su'il-munqalabi fil-mali wal-ahli. Wa idha raja'a qalahunna wa zada fihinna: 'A'ibuna, ta'ibuna, 'abiduna, li-rabbina hamiduna.'

Translation: Narrated Abdullah ibn Sarjis: When the Prophet ﷺ used to travel, he would say: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of the journey, the sorrow of the situation upon returning, the relapse after recovery, the supplication of the oppressed, and the evil of seeing [something unpleasant] in property and family.' And when he returned, he would say these words and add to them: 'We are returners, repenters, worshippers, and to our Lord praisers.' (Sahih Muslim 1342a, with slight variation in wording for hardship which is also found in other narrations of the same hadith)
