Narrated by Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to seek refuge in Allah for Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn, saying: 'O Allah! I seek refuge in Your perfect words from every devil and every poisonous thing and from every evil eye.' Then he would say: 'Your father (Abraham) used to seek refuge in Allah with this invocation for Ishmael and Isaac.' (Hadith is graded Hasan by scholars of hadith in Sunan Abi Dawud and is found in Sahih al-Bukhari 3371 with slight variation in wording and focus on the children). Another narration, which is more relevant to the specific wording provided in the entry: Narrated by Khawlah bint Hakim (may Allah be pleased with her): I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Whoever stops at a stopping place and says: A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created), nothing will harm him until he moves on from that stopping place.' (Sahih Muslim 2708). The specific wording in the entry combines elements from these protections. The wording provided in the JSON is narrated in Sunan Abi Dawud 3892 and graded Hasan, where the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever says: *A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min ghadabihi wa 'iqabihi, wa min sharri 'ibadihi, wa min hamazatish-shayateeni wa an yahdurun* (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, and from the evil of His servants, and from the whispers of the devils and from their presence), then it will be a protection for him from all evil.'
