How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a focused heart, raising your hands if possible. Imagine Allah (SWT) granting you the ability to learn what benefits you, to earn a lawful and good living, and to perform actions that are accepted by Him. Reflect on how beneficial knowledge can help you navigate new situations, how good provisions will sustain you ethically, and how accepted deeds will bring you closer to Allah, even far from home.
Virtues & Benefits
This powerful supplication, taught by our mother Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, encapsulates three vital aspects for success in any endeavor, including travel and responsibilities abroad. Beneficial knowledge ('ilman nafi'an) equips you to make wise decisions, understand local customs, and manage your affairs effectively. Good provisions (rizqan tayyiban) ensure you are sustained through lawful means, avoiding stress and seeking halal income. Acceptable deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan) mean your efforts, whether work or worship, are recognized and rewarded by Allah, giving your journey purpose and peace. This dua is a comprehensive request for well-being in both this life and the next, especially crucial when far from the familiar support systems.
