Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 4563

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.

Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel

When to Read

This powerful declaration is what the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) uttered when thrown into the fire, and what the companions said when told that people were gathering against them for battle. Recite it whenever you feel overwhelmed by injustice, facing a difficult challenge where human effort seems insufficient, or when facing oppressors. It’s a reminder that ultimate power and protection rest with Allah.

How to Read

Recite this with sincere conviction, truly believing that Allah is your sole reliance. Say it with a firm heart, visualizing Allah's support surrounding you. You can repeat it multiple times, allowing the meaning to sink in and strengthen your spirit.

Virtues & Benefits

This statement embodies the essence of *tawakkul* (trust in Allah). When uttered with certainty, as the Prophet ﷺ indicated, it is enough to protect from great hardship. It shifts the focus from the problem to the Solution-Giver, bringing immense peace and fortitude.

Source & Authentication

The narrator Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "The last statement of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) when he was thrown into the fire was: 'Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel' (Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs).' And the last statement of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when they said: 'Verily, the people have gathered against you (an army), so fear them,' was: 'Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel' (Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs)." — Sahih al-Bukhari 4563
