Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 4563

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.

Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel

When to Read

This powerful statement is best recited when you find yourself facing slander, gossip, or malicious rumors. It's a shield for your heart and mind when your reputation is unjustly attacked. Recite it during moments of distress and when you feel overwhelmed by the words of others, entrusting the outcome to Allah.

How to Read

Recite this with deep conviction, understanding that Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) is your ultimate protector and advocate. Say it with sincerity, letting the meaning permeate your heart: 'Allah is enough for me.' Focus on the trust you are placing in Him to manage the situation, defend your honor, and bring truth to light. It can be recited once or multiple times, depending on your need for reassurance and strength.

Virtues & Benefits

This declaration was famously uttered by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) when he was cast into the fire, and by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions when they were told that the people had gathered against them for a great attack. Allah tells us of the latter, 'Those to whom the people said, “Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.” But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, “Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He] is the best Disposer of affairs.”' (Surah Al 'Imran 3:173). The benefit lies in the profound peace and reliance it instills, knowing that no harm can befall you except by Allah's decree, and He, in His wisdom, will handle all matters. It shifts the burden from your shoulders to the Almighty, bringing solace and tranquility.
