โœฆ

There is no god but You; glory be to You! Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers.

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minadh-dhalimin

When to Read

This powerful dua is for moments of extreme hardship, darkness, and despair, when you feel trapped and overwhelmed, much like Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) inside the belly of the whale. Recite it with sincere belief and utter reliance on Allah when facing significant difficulties, seeking His immediate relief and mercy.

How to Read

Recite this dua with a heart filled with conviction, acknowledging your sins and shortcomings while simultaneously glorifying Allah's perfection. Understand that this is not just a plea, but a declaration of Allah's absolute divinity and a confession of one's own weakness. It's best recited with humility, facing the Qiblah if possible, and with the certainty that Allah hears every supplication.

Virtues & Benefits

The Quran explicitly states the efficacy of this dua: 'And Dhul-Nun (Yunus) when he went off in anger, and thought that We would not exert Our power over him. Then he called out in the darkness, saying: "There is no god but You; glory be to You! Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers." So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.' (Quran 21:87-88). This verse promises that Allah responds to and saves those who call upon Him in distress with this specific supplication. It highlights the power of Tawhid (Oneness of Allah) and Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) in overcoming immense challenges.
