Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal Wakeel

When to Read

Facing a legal battle can be incredibly stressful, filled with uncertainty, fear, and the feeling of being up against overwhelming odds. This powerful declaration, *Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal Wakeel*, is especially poignant when you find yourself in such a situation. It's for those moments when you've done everything you can to prepare and present your case, and now you must place the ultimate outcome in the Hands of the One who holds all power and decrees all matters. It's not a substitute for effort, but the spiritual culmination of your efforts, an act of true surrender and reliance on Allah's perfect justice and wisdom. Recite it when anxiety about the case mounts, when you feel helpless, or when you need to reaffirm your trust in Allah's support.

How to Read

Recite this dua with a sincere heart, truly believing in Allah's power, justice, and wisdom. Understand its profound meaning deeply: that you are declaring Allah as your sole reliance and the ultimate arbiter of all affairs, including your legal dispute. It's not just words, but an act of deep submission and tawakkul. You can say it multiple times throughout the day, particularly after your obligatory prayers, before attending court sessions, or whenever you feel overwhelmed by the legal proceedings. Let each utterance be a conscious affirmation of your trust in Allah.

Virtues & Benefits

The immense benefit of reciting this powerful statement lies in the profound peace and tranquility it brings to the heart. It alleviates anxiety, fear, and despair by shifting your reliance completely to Allah, the Best Disposer of Affairs. The Quran explicitly highlights this virtue in Surah Al-Imran: > **Arabic:** الَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ ۝ فَانقَلَبُوا بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ لَّمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوءٌ وَاتَّبَعُوا رِضْوَانَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ > > **Translation:** "Those to whom the people said, 'Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.' But it increased them in faith, and they said, 'Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.' So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no evil having touched them. And they pursued the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty." > > **Transliteration:** *Allatheena qala lahumun nasu inna an-nasa qad jama'oo lakum fakhshawhum fazadahum imanan wa qaloo Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal Wakeel. Fanqalaboo bini'matin mina Allahi wa fadlin lam yamsashum soo'un wa attaba'oo ridwan Allahi wa Allahu thoo fadlin 'adheem.* > > — Al-Imran 3:173-174 This verse demonstrates that those who utter this declaration, even when facing overwhelming odds or threats, are granted Allah's favor and protection, returning untouched by harm. Historically, Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is also reported to have said this when he was cast into the fire, and Allah made the fire cool and safe for him. Reciting this dua is a source of immense strength, courage, and true Tawakkul, reinforcing your belief that whatever the outcome, it is ultimately from the Best Disposer of Affairs, and true justice lies with Him.
