Source & Authentication
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'When Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was thrown into the fire, he said: 'O Allah, You are in the heavens, and I am in the earth, and You are the only one who can show mercy. O Allah, You are the only one who can forgive my sins. If I give charity, it will increase my wealth. If I do not give charity, it will not decrease my wealth. O Allah, I ask You by all the names You have called Yourself, by all the names that You have revealed in Your Book, or You have taught to any of Your messengers or You have kept hidden with You in the unseen knowledge, that You make the fire a source of peace and safety for me.' So Allah made it peace and safety for him, as was said: 'O fire! Be you cool and safety for Ibrahim' (21:69). And when the people gathered against the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (for battle), he said: 'Allah is sufficient for us and He is the best Disposer of affairs.' (3:173) Sahih al-Bukhari 4563
