Entrusting Your Children's Future to Allah's Care

Trust in Allah
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 4563

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.

Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel

When to Read

This powerful declaration is not just a dua for a specific moment, but a mindset. Recite it when you feel overwhelmed by the responsibilities of raising your children, when you worry about their future success, health, or guidance. Say it after you've done your best in planning and action, and now need to place the ultimate outcome in Allah's hands. It's perfect after making Duas for their well-being, or when facing challenges where their future hangs in the balance.

How to Read

Recite this with sincere conviction, feeling the weight of reliance on Allah. It's best to say it with a calm heart, perhaps after Fajr prayer, or whenever you feel the need to hand over your worries. Imagine the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) being thrown into the fire, and this was his response. Let that level of trust infuse your recitation.

Virtues & Benefits

This statement embodies perfect tawakkul (trust in Allah). When we truly say 'Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel,' we acknowledge that no matter how capable we are, Allah's plan and support are paramount. It brings immense peace to the heart, knowing that the One who controls everything is managing your children's affairs. This reliance frees you from crippling anxiety and allows you to focus on fulfilling your role as parents, while leaving the ultimate destiny to the Almighty. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'When the people (i.e. Quraysh) gathered against you (in the battle of Uhud), fear them not, rather, fear Me.' And when they said: 'Allah is sufficient for us and He is the best disposer of affairs,' it was said to them: 'This declaration was made by Ibrahim when he was thrown into the fire, and I am the Prophet and the number of people are few.' And it was made by Muhammad (peace be upon him) when they (the people) said: 'Allah is sufficient for us and He is the best disposer of affairs.' Sahih al-Bukhari 4563

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The best of the Muslims is the one who does not make himself a problem for the Muslims, and the best of the emigrants is the one who abandues evil and abstains from it. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Allah will not punish those who are merciful to others.' They said, 'O Allah's Messenger! We should be merciful to our wives.' He said, 'A person should be merciful to all people.' Allah says in His Book: 'Verily Allah has bought of the believers their lives and their properties for the price that they shall have Paradise, they fight in Allah's cause and kill and are killed. This fighting is a binding promise on Him in the Torah, the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? So rejoice in your pact which you have made. That is the great success.' (9:111) And Allah says: 'They are those who turn to Allah in repentance, worship Him in praise, are devoted to Him in His praises, fast, and fight in His cause, and are devoted to Him in worship, and are devoted to Him in bowing and prostrating themselves. They enjoin good and forbid evil, and observe the limits set by Allah. And give glad tidings to the believers.' (9:112) (Narrated by Abu Huraira) I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, 'The Muba'arakeen' (i.e. the blessed people) are those who will not spit in the Masjid nor have they prayed in it by themselves (i.e. they pray in congregation) or have asked for their requests (from Allah) after the prayer.' It was said to the Prophet (ﷺ), 'O Allah's Messenger! What are the Muba'arakeen?' He said, 'They are those who say: 'Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel.' ' (Allah is sufficient for us and He is the best disposer of affairs).
