Dua for Unwavering Trust in Allah While Seeking Justice

Trust in Allah
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 4563

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.

Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel

When to Read

This powerful declaration is most potent when facing overwhelming circumstances, particularly when experiencing injustice or betrayal. Recite it when you feel wronged, when legal or social recourse seems insufficient, and when the weight of the injustice bears down on you. It's a shield for your heart and a plea for divine intervention when human efforts falter.

How to Read

Recite this with deep sincerity, letting the meaning resonate within your heart. Understand that 'Hasbunallah' means Allah alone is enough for your needs and protection. 'Wa ni'mal wakeel' acknowledges Him as the ultimate guardian and manager of all affairs. Utter it with conviction, trusting that no matter how dire the situation, Allah's plan is supreme and His justice is certain. Repeat it as many times as needed until you feel a sense of peace and reliance.

Virtues & Benefits

This phrase is deeply connected to the trust (tawakkul) that the believers place in Allah. When the companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ were threatened by a massive army after the Battle of Uhud, Allah revealed about them: 'Those to whom people said, 'Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.' But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, 'Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He] is the best disposer of affairs.' (Surah Al 'Imran 3:173). The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'When the people of Ibrahim were faced with the large army, they said: 'Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel,' and this was said in the face of the enemy, and they were victorious.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 4563). This shows its immense power in repelling harm and securing victory when trust is absolute.
