Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was with some of his companions when a man on a camel came to them and then slit the camel's throat, and said: "We will seize him and what he owns, and Allah and His Messenger are truthful." The companions said: "O Allah's Messenger, should we kill him?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "No, but if he is coming to you, then he is a guest; if he is asking for something, then give him something; if he is seizing you, then fight him." The man went away and returned after a while and said: "I have done what I said. I have seized him and his property." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "O Allah, suffice me against him with whatever You wish." So the man was killed.
