Trust in Allah
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 6347

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of calamities, the attainment of misery, the evil of decrees, and the rejoicing of enemies.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min jahdil-bala', wa darakish-shaqa', wa su'il-qada', wa shamatatil-a'daa'

When to Read

This dua is profoundly relevant when you've experienced betrayal. It's a moment when your sense of security might be shaken, and the actions of others feel like a severe hardship. Recite this when you feel the weight of the betrayal, when you worry about the consequences of what has happened (evil of decrees), and when you fear that those who wronged you might take pleasure in your distress (rejoicing of enemies). It's a prayer for Allah to shield you from the worst aspects of such trials.

How to Read

Recite this supplication with a sincere heart, focusing on the meaning of each phrase. Raise your hands in supplication as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us. Visualize Allah's protection enveloping you. Understand that this dua is not just about avoiding external harm but about strengthening your inner resilience and relying on Allah's ultimate plan and wisdom. It's best recited in a state of calm reflection, perhaps after your obligatory prayers or during the quiet hours of the night.

Virtues & Benefits

This powerful dua, taught by our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, encompasses seeking refuge from four severe evils that can afflict a person. In the context of betrayal, it directly addresses the 'hardships of calamities' (the pain and difficulty of the situation), the 'attainment of misery' (the potential for despair and unhappiness), the 'evil of decrees' (the fear that the outcome might be detrimental), and the 'rejoicing of enemies' (the sting of knowing others may be pleased by your suffering). By reciting this, you are actively placing your trust in Allah's power to safeguard you from the deepest wounds of betrayal and to turn even adverse circumstances into something good for you, according to His perfect wisdom.
