In the name of Allah, upon myself, my wealth, and my family. O Allah, make me content with Your decree, and bless me in what You have given, so that I do not wish for the hastening of what You have delayed, nor the delaying of what You have hastened.
Bismillahi 'ala nafsi wa mali wa ahli. Allahumma raddini bi qada'ika wa barik li fima a'tayta, hatta la uhibba ta'jeela ma akhkharta wa la ta'khira ma 'ajjaltu.

How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a sincere heart, focusing on the meaning of the words. It's best recited when you are in a state of purity (wudu), though not strictly required. You can say it privately or with your family as you embark on this significant life change. The key is to internalize the plea for contentment and blessing, trusting that Allah's timing and provisions are superior to our own desires.
Virtues & Benefits
Reciting this dua cultivates immense trust in Allah's wisdom and plan (Tawakkul). It helps to calm anxieties associated with major life decisions like finding a new home, fostering inner peace. By asking for contentment with Allah's decree, we train our hearts to accept His chosen path, recognizing that 'what is delayed is not necessarily lost, and what is hastened is not necessarily beneficial.' The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this beautiful supplication to ensure that our desires align with Allah's will, leading to true satisfaction and blessings in our lives and our homes.
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-'As that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever says this dua when he wakes up: "O Allah, protect me with Islam while I am standing, protect me with Islam while I am sitting, protect me with Islam while I am lying down, and do not make my enemy or what I envy[1] have dominion over me. O Allah, protect me from every evil and from every evil companion, and grant me sustenance from Your bounty, and guard me from every desire and from every hardship." And he repeated it three times. And when he went to bed, he said the same supplication: 'Bismillahi 'ala nafsi wa mali wa ahli. Allahumma raddini bi qada'ika wa barik li fima a'tayta, hatta la uhibba ta'jeela ma akhkharta wa la ta'khira ma 'ajjaltu.' (and he said: 'O Allah, help me to remember You, to thank You, and to worship You in the best way.') And he repeated it three times. [1] Or 'what I fear'. [Note: This dua is often recited as part of a larger supplication for waking and sleeping. The portion relevant to trusting Allah's decree and blessings when seeking provisions, like a home, is the latter part, which is a standalone powerful supplication.]
