Dua for Trusting Allah When Facing False Accusations

Trust in Allah
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 5903

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief. I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness. I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess. I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the overpowering of men.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhli, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabad-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, is a comprehensive shield against many afflictions. Specifically, the plea 'wa a'udhu bika min ghalabad-dayni wa qahrir-rijal' (and I seek refuge in You from the overpowering of men) directly addresses the situation of being subjected to unjust treatment or pressure by others, which includes false accusations. It helps alleviate worry, grief, and the feeling of being overwhelmed, fostering a sense of reliance on Allah's justice and protection.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to supplicate: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhli, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabad-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 5903). This hadith highlights the Prophet's ﷺ own reliance on Allah for protection against various forms of distress, including the 'overpowering of men,' which encompasses situations of being unjustly treated or falsely accused.
