اللَّهُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيَّ ضَالَّتِي "اللَّهُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيَّ ضَالَّتِي

O Allah, return to me my lost item, O Allah, return to me my lost item.

Allahumma rudd 'alayya dâllatî, Allahumma rudd 'alayya dâllatî

When to Read

Recite this dua with sincere conviction whenever you realize something valuable or important has been misplaced. It's particularly useful in moments of distress or frustration, reminding you to turn to Allah first.

How to Read

Recite with focus and belief in Allah's ability to return what is lost. It's recommended to make wudu (ablution) and face the Qiblah if possible, though the sincerity of the heart is paramount. Repeat it with a clear intention of seeking Allah's help.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my animal has gone astray.' He said: 'O Allah, return to me my lost item.' So the animal returned to him. Then he said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my camel has gone astray.' He said: 'O Allah, return to me my lost item.' So his camel returned to him.'" (Sunan Abi Dawud 5075). The hadith in Sunan Abi Dawud is considered Hasan.
