حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel
When to Read
This powerful declaration is particularly potent when facing the immense responsibility of establishing or guiding a new nation, or any significant undertaking where the future feels uncertain. It's for moments when the weight of decisions and the unknown outcomes press upon you, reminding you that ultimate control rests with Allah.
How to Read
Recite this with deep sincerity and conviction, focusing on the meaning of Allah being your sole reliance. It's not just a phrase, but a complete surrender of your efforts and the outcome to the Almighty. Say it with a heart that has done its best and now trusts Allah to manage the rest. Reflect on the story of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) when he was thrown into the fire, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) when he faced the enemy at Uhud, both uttering these words.
Virtues & Benefits
This statement is directly linked to a profound level of faith and trust in Allah (Tawakkul). When uttered with true belief, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), it is a source of immense strength and protection. It signifies a complete handover of matters to Allah, who is the best guardian and planner. The Quran speaks to this principle in Surah Al-Imran, verse 173: '...and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He] is the best Disposer of affairs."' (Al-Imran 3:173).

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The people used to say, 'Allah is sufficient for us and He is the best Disposer of affairs,' when they were facing the enemy in the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The nations have been presented before me, and I saw each prophet with one or two men, and a prophet with three or four men, and a prophet with a larger group. And then I saw a large crowd stretching to the horizon. I hoped that it would be my nation, and it was said to me: 'This is Moses and his people.' Then I looked again and saw a vast multitude stretching to the horizon. It was said to me: 'This is your nation, and seventy thousand of them will enter Paradise without any reckoning.'"
