Virtues & Benefits
This powerful dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to his uncle Al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), asks Allah for two crucial things: sustenance that is lawful and sufficient, and independence from needing creation. When applied to project completion and delivery, it means seeking Allah's help to ensure the project is executed ethically and without resorting to forbidden means, and that its outcome is blessed and sufficient, freeing you from anxieties and reliance on anyone other than Allah.
Source & Authentication
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said to Al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him): 'O Al-Abbas, O my uncle, shall I not give you, shall I not grant you, shall I not offer you seven things? If you do them, Allah will forgive what you intended, what you did secretly, what you did openly, what you did by mistake, what you did intentionally, what you did secretly, what you did publicly – seven things. Then he said: Pray the four rak'ahs of Duha. Then say: O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the great Throne, our Lord and the Lord of all things, the Knower of the hidden and the apparent, the Judge of the first and the last, I ask You, O Allah, by Your magnificent countenance and by Your enduring authority, to open for me the gate of Your bounty.' Then he taught him the prayer of Duha. Then he said: 'O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need anyone other than You.' (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3563)
