โœฆ

O Allah, forgive my wife (or husband), guide her (or him), have mercy upon her (or him), grant her (or him) repentance and contentment, and accept from us, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

Allahummaghfir li zawjati (aw zawji) wahdiha (aw idihi) warhamha (aw irhamhu) warzuqha (aw irzuqhu) at-tawbata war-rida waqbal minna ya arhamar-rahimin.

When to Read

This dua can be recited at any time, but it is particularly potent during the times when duas are more likely to be accepted, such as after prayers, during the last third of the night, or when breaking your fast. You can make it a regular part of your personal supplications (duas) or recite it spontaneously when you feel the urge to pray for your spouse's well-being.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a pure intention for your spouse's benefit. Face the Qiblah if possible, raise your hands in supplication, and ask Allah with certainty that He will answer. It's beautiful to include your spouse's name when making the dua. For example, 'Allahummaghfir li [Spouse's Name]...'. Remember that making dua for others in their absence carries great reward.

Virtues & Benefits

Making sincere dua for your spouse's forgiveness and guidance strengthens the marital bond and fosters mutual love and support. It shows you care deeply about their spiritual well-being, which is a beautiful reflection of the Islamic emphasis on advising each other towards good. The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ said: 'The dua of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is readily answered. An angel is by his head, and whenever he prays for his brother, the angel says: Ameen, and you too have that.' (Sahih Muslim 2156). Praying for forgiveness and guidance is the highest form of wishing well for a loved one.
