اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your bounty, so that I may not need to seek from anyone other than You.
Allahummakfini bihalalika 'an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka
When to Read
This dua is particularly potent when you and your spouse are facing financial strain, mounting debts, or a general lack of provision. Recite it consistently, especially after your obligatory prayers (Salah), or at times when you are seeking direct assistance from Allah. It's a plea for divine intervention and contentment, suitable for daily recitation or during times of specific need.
How to Read
Make this dua with sincerity and firm belief in Allah's ability to provide. Raise your hands in supplication, facing the Qiblah if possible. Utter the words clearly, understanding their meaning. It is recommended to repeat the dua three times, just as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ often did. Accompany this dua with practical efforts to improve your financial situation, as Allah loves those who combine reliance (Tawakkul) with action.
Virtues & Benefits
This powerful dua encompasses two vital aspects of seeking Allah's help for financial well-being. Firstly, it asks Allah to protect you and your spouse from resorting to unlawful (haram) means of earning or sustenance, ensuring your wealth is blessed. Secondly, it requests sufficiency through Allah's grace, fostering contentment and independence from needing to beg from creation. When a couple makes such sincere supplications together, it strengthens their bond and their collective reliance on Allah.

The hadith narrated by Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) states that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and complained: 'I cannot afford to get married.' The Prophet ﷺ instructed him to recite this dua: 'Allahummakfini bihalalika 'an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka.' (O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your bounty, so that I may not need to seek from anyone other than You.)
