O Allah, remove the anger from my heart, forgive my sins, and protect me from the evil of morals, deeds, and desires.

Allahumma adh-hib 'anni ghayẓa qalbi, waghfir dhanbi, wa ajirni min munkaratil-akhlāqi wal-a'māli wal-ahwā'.

When to Read

This dua is particularly beneficial to recite after a heated exchange with your spouse. When emotions are high and words have been said that you might regret, this is the perfect time to turn to Allah. It's a supplication for inner peace and guidance to rectify the situation and prevent further harm.

How to Read

Recite this dua sincerely, focusing on the meaning of each word. It's best recited when you are able to find a moment of quiet, perhaps after the immediate heat of the argument has passed. Take a moment to breathe, collect your thoughts, and make this heartfelt plea to Allah. It can be recited once or multiple times until you feel a sense of calm and a desire to seek reconciliation.

Virtues & Benefits

This powerful dua asks Allah for three crucial things: the removal of anger (ghayẓ) from the heart, forgiveness for any wrongdoings or harsh words spoken during the argument, and protection from all that is disliked in character and action. By seeking these, you are not only aiming to cool down but also to grow spiritually and improve your conduct in your most important relationship. It's a proactive step towards seeking Allah's help in maintaining harmony and love within the marriage.
