O Allah, protect my husband with Your protection.

Allahumma ihfadh zawji bi hifdhik

When to Read

This dua can be recited at any time, especially when you feel concerned about your spouse's safety or well-being. It's particularly fitting after Fajr and before sleep, times when Allah's blessings are abundant and our supplications are more likely to be accepted. You might also recite it during times of worry or when they are traveling or facing a difficult situation.

How to Read

Recite with sincerity and conviction, focusing on Allah's power to protect. Place your hand on your heart or imagine placing it on your spouse's shoulder (if they are present) while making the dua. Have full faith that Allah is the ultimate protector. If you are reciting it for yourself, use the feminine form: 'Allahumma ihfadh zawjati bi hifdhik' (O Allah, protect my wife with Your protection).

Virtues & Benefits

Making dua for loved ones is a profound act of worship and a beautiful expression of love and care. It demonstrates our reliance on Allah and our trust in His ability to safeguard what is precious to us. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is readily answered. An angel is appointed to his side; whenever he supplicates for his brother with good, the angel appointed to him says: Ameen, and for you to be given the like of that.' (Sahih Muslim 2106). By praying for your spouse's protection, you are not only seeking Allah's shield for them but also earning your own reward.
