O Allah, grant me a merciful heart and a truthful tongue. I seek refuge in You from the evil of the devil and his temptations, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of every beneficial thing that is not beneficial to me.
Allahumma ijal li qalban rahiman, wa lisanan sadiqan, wa a'udhu bika min sharish-shaytani wa rizrih, wa a'udhu bika min sharri kulli shay'in nafi'in la anfa'a lah.

How to Read
Make this dua with sincerity, raising your hands as is customary for supplication. Focus on the meaning of the words and the attributes of Allah that you are invoking. It's best recited after obligatory prayers, during the last third of the night, or at any time you feel the need for divine assistance in fostering harmonious family relations. Visualize your spouse (or yourself) embodying patience and kindness amidst difficulties.
Virtues & Benefits
This comprehensive dua asks Allah for inner strength (a merciful heart) and integrity (a truthful tongue) to deal with difficult situations. It also seeks protection from negative influences, both internal (the devil's whispers) and external (harmful situations disguised as beneficial). By asking for a merciful heart, we are guided to respond to difficult relatives with compassion rather than anger, and a truthful tongue ensures we communicate with honesty and respect. Seeking refuge from the evil of the devil and harmful situations helps us avoid succumbing to frustration or engaging in actions that might worsen the situation. This dua cultivates the inner resilience needed for your spouse to remain patient and composed when dealing with challenging family dynamics.
