Virtues & Benefits
This dua seeks Allah's direct intervention in guiding your spouse, strengthening their resolve in obedience, and securing forgiveness and mercy for them. It also asks for shared sincere repentance, implying a renewed commitment to Allah for both of you. The Quran emphasizes seeking guidance and forgiveness: '...Allah accepts the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and then turn close to Him at once. For these, Allah will turn their forgiveness... And Allah is Knowing and Wise.' (Surah An-Nisa, 4:17-18) and also, '...And repent to Allah, O believers, that you might succeed.' (Surah An-Nur, 24:31). Seeking Allah's guidance for others is a noble act that reflects your concern for their deen and your own commitment to a righteous household.
