O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all matters, and resolve in pursuing guidance. I ask You for the things that lead to Your mercy and the things that protect from Your forgiveness. I ask You to enable me to be grateful for Your blessings and to worship You in the best manner. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and I ask You for the good of what You know. I seek Your forgiveness for what You know. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen.

Allahumma inni as'alukath-thabata fil-amr, wal-'azeemata 'alar-rushd, wa as'aluka moojibaati rahmatik, wa hazaa'ima maghfiratik, wa as'aluka shukra ni'matik, wa husna 'ibaadatik, wa as'aluka qalban saleeman, wa lisaanan saadiqan, wa a'oodhu bika min sharri ma ta'lam, wa as'aluka min khairi ma ta'lam, wa astaghfiruka mimma ta'lam, innaka anta 'allaamul-ghuyoob.

This dua is especially beneficial when you or your spouse are facing difficult times, tests, or periods of hardship. It's a prayer for inner strength and spiritual resilience, helping to anchor the hearts to Allah when the world feels unsteady. You can make this dua for your spouse anytime, particularly during moments when you observe them struggling or feeling overwhelmed.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a present heart. Make it a personal supplication, addressing Allah directly. It's best to raise your hands in supplication as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to do. Narrated Ibn Abbas: Al-Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib said: "O Allah's Messenger! I wish you had taught me something that I may ask Allah with it." He said: "O Allah! I ask You for 'Afiyah (well-being)." So he (Al-Abbas) stayed with him for a few days, then he came to him again and said: "O Allah's Messenger! I wish you had taught me something that I may ask Allah with it." He said to him: "O Allah! I ask You for forgiveness and 'Afiyah, in this life and the Hereafter. O Allah! I ask You for pardon and 'Afiyah in my religion and my worldly affairs, and my family and my wealth. O Allah! Conceal my satr (that which must be concealed) and grant me security in what I fear." Then he said: "O Al-Abbas! Ask Allah for 'Afiyah for yourselves for days do not pass but that you are in need of it." (Tirmidhi graded it Hasan) Another narration states: Narrated Al-Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib: I said: "O Allah's Messenger! Teach me something to ask Allah for." He said: "O Allah! I ask You for firmness in the command, and I ask You for resolve in guidance, and I ask You for the deeds that bring Your forgiveness, and the resolve to be self-sufficient from need of others. And I ask You for the signs of Your bounty, and the gratitude for Your bounty, and the good worship of You. And I ask You for a sound heart, and I ask You for a truthful tongue. And I ask You for the best of what You know, and I seek refuge in You from the worst of what You know, and I ask Your forgiveness for what You know." He said: "Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen."
