When to Read

This dua can be recited at any time, but it's particularly beneficial to make it during the night, after obligatory prayers, or during moments of personal reflection and supplication. Making it a habit, perhaps daily or weekly, reinforces the intention.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, directing your heart towards Allah. Visualize your spouse embodying the qualities of gratitude and appreciation. Reflect on the blessings Allah has bestowed upon your marriage and your spouse. It's recommended to raise your hands in supplication, as is the etiquette of asking Allah.

Virtues & Benefits

Cultivating gratitude in a spouse strengthens the marital bond by fostering appreciation for each other and for Allah's favors. It shifts the focus from shortcomings to blessings, reducing conflict and increasing contentment. A grateful spouse is more likely to acknowledge and value their partner's efforts, contributing to a happier and more stable relationship. The Quran emphasizes gratitude: "So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me, and do not deny Me" (Al-Baqarah 2:152). Allah also mentions the worldly and hereafter benefits of appreciating His provisions: "And Allah has made for you from yourselves mates and has made for you from your mates sons and grandsons and has provided for you of the good things - then in falsehood do they believe and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve?" (An-Nahl 16:72).
